Begin a Beautiful Friendship with Us – IT Hardware Vendors and End-Users

planIT, planIT HARDWARE, Cisco, casablanca, vendor, end-user, IT hardware, used IT hardware, IT network, home network, my wifi network, your wireless network, wifi network connection, network hardware, cisco systemsIt’s sort of funny. I’m a huge film fan. As a young teen, I used to favor weekend nights alone with a few rentals in lieu of going out with friends. When I did go out with friends, I was often planning the next movie I was going to watch. I cataloged all of the movies I’d seen and wanted to see in an Excel spreadsheet that has since gone missing. At one point, at the peak of my fanaticism, I had watched some 80 movies or so in a single high school summer. And even for all of that, I still had not seen the classic, Casablanca. I watched it one time toward the end of college, but was with a group of people and not paying attention. Even still, the famous final line of the movie is so ubiquitous that I can call it to memory at the drop of a hat: “Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

If you think you’d like to start a beautiful friendship with us, read on.

planIT HARDWARE, a 2013 Pacesetter Award nominee and one of the fastest-growing companies in Atlanta, is your source for deep-discounted IT hardware. Whether it’s used, refurbished, new in box or new out of box, we can provide you with quality equipment for your data center, IT vendor service or small business. We cater to several different types of consumers:

All of our products are tested by experienced IT technicians and shipped out by a diligent and faithful team. We even offer same-day shipping, to get you the hardware you need, when you need it.  And if we aren’t carrying what you need? No worries, we can order it from our wide network of vendors and IT brokers. Now that’s a good friend.

X marks the spot in terms of industry-leading security when it comes to Cisco Catalyst 3750X Series switches. These stackable enterprise-class switches have proven to be tougher to break through than King Hippo from Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out.

Everyone remembers the left and right jabs King Hippo would throw before he opened his massive mouth.  His hand would raise and Little Mac would defeat the King with a malicious assault to the head.

With Flexible NetFlow to protect against malicious behavior, the 3750X also uses MACsec layer-2 encryption to protect confidentiality and TrustSec to provide identity-based access control.

Little Mac had the support of Doc Louis, the “heavy-puncher.”  With a 3750X, you will have the support of non-stop communications with redundant hot swappable power supplies, cooling fans, and network modules.

So, let’s take a look at the stats:

Name Age Rank
3750x New or Refurbished #1 in (QoS)

  •   Prioritizes business-critical traffic, such as   video, with Strict Priority Queuing
  •   Validates network readiness and simplifies   troubleshooting with Mediatrace and Traffic Simulator

Don’t Get Fooled by Tele-phonies: Reliable Telecommunications with planIT

telephony, telecommunications, telecommunication systems, telekom, teco, ip, voipcheap, it hardware, used network hardware, used it hardware, eol, cisco end of life, it networkIt’s been a hot minute since Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. Since then, telecommunications in our modern culture have evolved to the point where many households don’t even own a landline. The advent of the cell phone has allowed for cheaper services, such as long-distance calling, and the audio quality of calls has improved vastly.

So, why would a business ever utilize the old public switched telephone network (PSTN) when VoIP technology exists? VoIP (voice over IP security) is an example of our modern telecommunication systems and how they’ve progressed beyond the original PSTN.

There are many benefits for a business to use a VoIP network, where traffic moves over a private data network or the internet. Private branch exchanges (PBX) were once needed for a business to self-operate several lines (as opposed to paying a local carrier/telephone company to do so) that were all connected to the PSTN. Now, with IP phones, a corporation’s voice traffic is streamlined into one network. This cuts costs for international and long-distance calls, services that are now obsolete, equipment and line maintenance, etc. Video calls and conferencing are becoming more commonplace as well, and this kind of rich media service is available via the Internet that powers VoIP telephony and devices. Another great feature of IP phones is that you can take them with you, set them up in a different location that has IP connectivity, and keep the same number so that you can be reached wherever your phone is.

planIT HARDWARE has plenty of used, refurbished and EOL (end of life) telephony available at extremely low costs. We’ve got reliable telecommunication systems at 60-90% off list prices, so don’t let yourself be fooled by tele-phonies (see what I did there?).

What is a Switch?

3750x, cisco, IT network, network hardware, network hardware resale, used IT hardware, what is a network switch, what is a switch, network servers, IT hardware, your wireless network, computer network hardware, end of life eol, what is a hub

For the typical home end-user, “router” and “modem” are practically household names, like Brad Pitt (and his flowing locks) or Kim Kardashian (and her…errrmm…fashion sense…). With the advent of the wireless home network, these pieces of hardware have become a commonplace part of every day life. But for the individual who makes the leap from home-office hero to startup superstar, a switch becomes as integral a part of the business machinery as a basic router would be to the home network.

So, for the uninitiated, I will answer the question: What is a switch?

A network switch is similar to a router in that it is a connector of several electronic devices, forging and facilitating a “network.” This device is crucial to most offices and businesses in that it allows for printers, servers and computers to be tethered together on a single network in which they can communicate with one another, effectively “talking.”

A few great things about switches is that they will last you about seven years and no configuration is required out-of-box–in other words: if you don’t want to, you don’t have to.

The kind of inter-connectivity that a switch provides helps businesses of most sizes, from startup to mega-Goliath corporation, function more productively and efficiently. planIT HARDWARE has plenty of refurbished, tested and used network hardware, including switches (at 60-90% off list price) that will last you years to come. planIT Hardware Is Nominated for 2013 Pacesetter Award

IT News, top startups, top companies, atlanta business chronicle, pacesetter awards, IT network, used IT hardware

planIT Hardware, a leader in the new and refurbished network hardware industry, has been nominated for something great. It was announced today that the company was selected as a finalist in the Atlanta Business Chronicle 2013 Pacesetter Awards. For 17 years now, the ceremony has been an annual and integral part of the Atlanta business scene. The Pacesetter Award honors the 50 fastest-growing privately held companies of Atlanta and how they continue to develop amidst what The Chronicle calls “today’s new economy.”

This is a great honor for planIT Hardware, which has seen incredible growth (just shy of 420 percent) since its 2009 inception. Additionally, the company workforce quadrupled from two to nine people over the course of three years. The last year of growth, specifically, can be attributed to a focus on end-users, VAR’s (value-added resellers), and international sales.

With regard to the nomination and recent growth, owner/CEO Paul Hogg had this to say: “I’m excited about the nomination; a recognition like this is great for our company. During 2012 we achieved considerable success in growth outside of the regular network hardware broker market. Utilizing online marketplaces and web-based sales campaigns, we’ve grown our VAR and end-user customer base significantly, especially in the last half of the year. This growth has actually carried into 2013, and we are seeing many new customers from 2012 sending us repeat orders. I guess we are doing a great job at keeping them happy with our products, testing, and delivery.”

The 18th Annual Pacesetter Awards ceremony will be held on Friday, April 26th at The Cobb Galleria.
